Bus with the expert guide will wait for you at the airport. The tour begins with the coach drive to the coastal highway for a panoramic view of the city walls, ancient roof tops and the picturesque surroundings. Then we continue with the walking tour of the city which is on UNESCO-s List of Cultural heritage. This ancient town, surrounded by ramparts and fortresses, is a treasure trove of architectural and cultural masterpieces, scrupulously preserved over the centuries. A pleasant walk will take you to the Rector´s Palace, The Franciscan Monastery with its 14th century Pharmacy, as well as to other places of interest.

KUMROVEC AND GRESNA GORICA

The major attraction of Kumrovec is the Ethnological Museum Staro Selo (Old Village) Kumrovec with very well preserved village houses from the turn of 19th/20th century. So far 40-odd houses and other farm-stead facilities have been restored, which makes Staro Selo the most attractive place of this kind in Croatia. A special attraction of the village is the birth house of the president of former Yugoslavia - Josip Broz Tito, with a monument.

the demonstration of the traditional crafts. In the pottery section you can mix
clay& drive the pottery wheel; our weavers who weave on the loom will show
you how to make traditional linen, while the other masters know everything
about the embroidery on our traditional costumes. A horse-shoe for your
good luck will be made by our blacksmith.

After visit of Kumrovec our drive proceed to beautiful Agro tourism Grešna Gorica The GRESNA GORICA Taborgradska klet (the Taborgrad Wine-Cellar of The Hill of Sin) is placed on the hill opposite to Veliki Tabor, the 15th century castle, offering a visitor an atmosphere of a genuine Zagorje scenery and making him fell a part of the romantic and dramatic past of Hrvatsko Zagorje.

Whilst you will be enjoying the typical Zagorje meals, Mr. Damir Podboj, the kind host, will be more than pleased to entertain you with the legend of the tragic and forbidden love between the nobleman Frederic Of Celje and the beautiful plebeian girl Veronika of Desinic. This is why the hill bears the name of Gresna Gorica - the Hill of Sin.

ZELINA and wine tasting

The region of Zelina is extremely picturesque and attracts many tourists. Passing through these beautiful villages one can still see old mills, watermills and lime-kilns that stand as evidence of flourishing trade in the past. Today the region is mostly known for its wines that the local wine-growers and wine-merchants are very proud of. Their efforts have been recognized at many wine exhibitions and fairs where they got numerous awards. Especially attractive is the so called wine road that passes through wine-growing villages from Donja Zelina toward Nespeš and Gornje Psarjevo, continuing toward Sveti Ivan Zelina. A visitor can have a glass of wine in one of the wine-cellars or vineyards or even try some of the local food. Good time to come to this region is during the grape harvest and some of the wine festivities like St. Martin or St. Vincent’s Day. In Sv. Ivan Zelina Museum (currently closed) there is a permanent exhibition of old tools and books connected with wine-growing and wine-selling, standing as evidence of long tradition. TRAKOSCAN archery tournament

Trakoscan was built in the 13th c. within Croatia´s northwestern fortification system, as a rather small observation fortress for monitoring the road from Ptuj to Bednja Valley. It is located on a landscaped hill above the lake. This romantic castle attracts numerous tourists. This excursion can be enriched with two activities:
LIVE SCENES FROM THE PAST- Sightseeing of a castle with live scenes from the past. Surprise: everybody will get a costume, and princess and knight of honor will be elected.
ARCHERY TOURNAMENT- Find Robin Hood inside yourself. After short training starts tournament in three rounds. In first round each participant has three arches. In second each participant has to point the circle from 10 m. In third round go only the 5 best… Win and get the gold medal.

OPATIJA RIVIERA
Full day excursion by bus

Sheltered from cold winds, immersed in the rich, always green vegetation, Opatija enjoys all the benefits of its mild Mediterranean climate.
Built around the Benedictine abbey, mentioned for the first time in the 12th century, Opatija starts to write its tourist story in 1844 with the construction of the first summer house - villa Angiolina, surrounded by the exotic park. The opening of transport communications, of the railway communication with Vienna, Zagreb and Budapest in particular (in 1873) enabled its rapid development.
The insistence of eminent physicians, dr Schroeter, dr. Billroth, dr. Oertl and others and also all the natural resources, prompted the Southern Railways Association from Vienna headed by Friedrich Schüller, to transform Opatija in one of the major tourist resorts in Europe.

ZAGREB COSTUMED SIGHTSEEING

We invite you to experience the past and present of Zagreb by passing through the streets of Lower and Upper Town, by visiting the famous arcades and sculptures of Mirogoj Park Cemetery, by entering inside the Zagreb cathedral or by taking in the everyday lively atmosphere of Dolac Market.
You will be accompanied by celebrated personalities from Zagreb´s past - August Šenoa, a novelist and Marija Jurić Zagorka, a novelist and the first Croatian lady-journalist. Our walk through the streets of the Upper Town will take us to St. Mark´s Church, a symbol of Zagreb, to the best view of Zagreb from under the Lotršćak Tower and to the Stone gate where we light a candle.
Only in Zagreb the noon is announced by the cannon firing from the Lotrščak Tower and city parks are arranged in the form of a horse shoe.
Zagreb has Maksimir, the oldest public cultivated park in Europe and Archeological Museum is proud to present the mummy with the longest Etrusch epitaph...

The manor Miljana was built and developed by the counts Ratkay from the beginning of 17th century until the end of 18th century

VARAZDIN

VARAŽDIN
Varazdin is one of the most important tourist centres of the entire northern
Croatia. The variety of cultural and historical offer in the city and its
surroundings, as well as the beautiful countryside attract many visitors the
whole year round. The urban heart of this Central European Baroque town,
which is often compared with Vienna, is very well preserved. The old town
fortification, the central part of the town, numerous museums, galleries and
collections as well as the Varazdin cemetery, protected as a horticultural
monument, represent the main tourist attractions.


THE MUSEUM OF PEASANT REBELLION & ORSIC CASTLE

The museum is situated in the Orsic castle built in 1756, and the vicinity of Donja Stubica, the village known for being the birthplace of Matija Gubec. A peasant leader and hero, Matija Gubec, together with thousands of peasants, was fighting against their feudal master. Here the time will stop for a day, so that you can experience the Middle Age past and participate in different games and tournaments.
Program:
- Middle Age Welcome – with welcome drink the owner of the castle, noble Petricevic and his escort, welcomes the guests upon arrival
- Arriving of guard and sword fighting scene – sword fighting is a discipline that requires the highest skills and will attract your full attention
- Garrison – the participants will become familiar with arms and armory, sword fighting and cudgel competition.
- Medieval dancing and music performance
- Thieves & criminals – with the possibility to participate. Just like in the Middle Age, thieves and other criminals have cruel punishments to fear.
- Animation program for the guests – under the supervision, there will be organized different trainings, such as “Archery skills” and “Cudgel in the center”. The most experienced and skilled will have the possibility of competing between each other.
- Visit to the new permanent museum exhibition with costumed English speaking guide the exhibition gives an interesting cultural and historical survey of the region from the 14th century till the abolishment of the feudal system in 1848. Visitors can also peek into a wine cellars and visit the exhibition of ecclesiastical art in the Baroque chapel of St. Francis Xavier.

PODRAVINA center of Naive Art

KOPRIVNICA
The city of Koprivnica is the central town in Podravina, proclaimed Royal Borough in 1356. Among older cultural monuments, the most interesting are the baroque buildings such as the church of St. Anthony of Padua with the Franciscan monastery, the chapel of Salvator and the Armory from 1714. Spreading outside the town walls, today´s center of Koprivnica, with the square and the large park with the musical pavilion, obtained it´s final form ath the beginningof the 20th century.
HLEBINE
First mentioned in the year 1330, the village of Hlebine didn´t become famous for another 600 years, until Croatian Naive art was born here. It all happened here, in still and silent landscape, 12 kilometers from the neighbouring town of Koprivnica. It was the year 1930 when, by shear coincidence, professor Krsto Hegedusic first became acquainted with the peasant-painter Ivan Generalic and his work.
